November 2019 Walk

November 2019 Walk

The November walk from 'The Manor' at Glen Parva was led by Carol and Maud.  There were twenty three walkers (including two new members) on what was a chilly but dry morning.  Leaving the pub we turned left down the lane to the ford which was flooded.  Fortunately we were able to get into Alison's Acre and follow the path into Blaby.  Near the turn into Mill Lane we crossed the field at the rear of Blaby Hall Farm.  At the edge of Bouskell Park we went through The Long Walk eventually reaching Hospital Lane.  Crossing into Oakfield Park, we headed for The Oaks, weaving our way through the trees and mud until we reached the new park on the edge of the new development at Countesthorpe.  Here we stopped for our break before heading into the housing estate.  We left the houses on the more established track which leads down to the Oaks and more mud. Crossing Hospital Lane we walked down past the cemetery to Mill Lane and turned left.  Again we had to avoid the lane down to the ford and retrace our steps back to the pub for a well-deserved lunch.

Many thanks to those who have led and to those who have attended the walks this year.

Looking ahead to 2020, we have volunteers for most of the walks but still need volunteers for the 27th February and 24th September.
