April 2024 walk

The April walks from The Shoulder of Mutton at Foxton were led by John and Pat.  Leaving the pub by the rear entrance we turned right into North Lane and on reaching the small new housing estate turned left on the waymarked path.  We then followed the markers across four fields to reach Debdale Wharf Farm.

Turning right we walked down Debdale Lane until we reached Beauchamp Farm where we took the waymarked track on our left.  After crossing three fields we turned right and had our break overlooking the large fishing pond.  Passing the pond we exited the field onto a metaled track where we turned left. At the top of the hill we reached the track from Smeeton Westerby and turning left we were back at Debdale Lane.  Here we joined the canal towpath which we followed to the left until we reached the footbridge.  Following the track on our left through the spinney we then crossed four fields exiting by the llamas onto North Lane.  It was then only a short walk back to the pub to join the short walkers for an excellent lunch.

We are still in need of a volunteer to lead the November walk.
