Activity Groups
The July walk from The Manor at Glen Parva was led by Sue. Leaving the pub we turned right and headed along to join the Grand Union Canal towpath. Turning right again we followed the towpath passing Vice's Bridge and Lock and continuing straight ahead to Crow Mills. Again we followed the towpath to Ervin's Lock, Pochin's Bridge, and Knight's Bridge. Just before the next lock we crossed the stile onto the waymarked track which lead us to the edge of the Sewage Works. After a short distance we paused for our break before continuing along the track to Leicester Road. After crossing the road we walked down Jubilee Way across the field (Play Area) to the bridge over the disused railway line. Following this track over three fields we turned left and at the bottom of the slope entered the wooded track which we followed to Oakfield Park. After crossing Hospital Lane we followed the metalled path passing the Peace Meadow Garden to join Mill Lane. After turning left, we then took the road on our right down to the ford and were soon back at the Manor for a very enjoyable lunch.
We are still in need of a volunteer to lead the November walk.
